Used Subaru Cars For Sale

Think Subaru and the temptation is to think of the Impreza rally replica models that have been the cornerstone of the marque's model range since the early 90's. There is, however, considerably more to Subaru, with the marque turning its boxer engine technology, advanced 4x4 transmission systems and outstanding reliability record to a variety of uses.

A historic view on Subaru

Subarus have remained consistently popular as used cars thanks to their robust engineering and tough build. The finishing touches haven't always been as polished as they could have been and interior quality is a common bugbear but used car buyers can be sure that the important bits are built to last. The Impreza remains a vitally important car for the marque. The range was always weighted towards the high performance turbocharged models badged WRX and, if you're really serious, STi. In 2008, however, the Impreza became a hatchback and became more widely available in less extreme forms. Used second hand models are now readily available. Subaru is known for its all-wheel-drive expertise and the Forester is its 4x4. Pre-owned examples have always been popular with buyers who need their vehicles to work hard and through its various generations, the car has remained tough and reliable. It's also surprisingly composed on the road and fast if you choose a turbocharged model. That leaves the Legacy saloon and estate models, good alternatives to the normal medium range and compact executive choices. Second hand car buyers might also be interested in the Justy city car. The absence of diesel engines from its range handicapped Subaru for a long time but its impressive boxer diesel is now available in the larger models and will be highly prized on the used second hand market.
