The county of Shropshire is situated in the West Midlands of England and neighbours the counties of Staffordshire, Herefordshire, Wrexham, Powys, Cheshire and Worcestershire. Most of the county is bordered by the River Severn and the area is recognisable by the striking white and black buildings dating back to medieval times. The Wrekin which is a large hill close to Telford is one of the most commonly known landmarks.
